| As we celebrate the new
millennium, with hope and purpose, we the Chinese Americans of the
Catholic faith, are united by the deep love and devotion we share
for our Blessed Mother.
We invite you, our Chinese American brothers and sisters, and our dear friends to honor Our Lady of China by helping to place a mosaic in her honor at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, DC. The Basilica stands proudly as the largest Catholic Church in the Western Hemisphere and the 8th largest in the world. The Shrine is a testament to the love that this multi ethnic world of ours has for the Blessed Mother and her Son. With over 60 chapels representing Marian devotion from many different cultures, under the patronage of the Most Reverend William E Lori, then Auxiliary Bishop of Washington, now Bishop of Bridgeport, Connecticut, the Basilica's doors are open to the one hundred thousand Chinese American Catholics to erect a mosaic in honor of Our Lady of China. In this, the fresh start of a new and promising millennium of faith, we hope you will help make our project of love and devotion a reality. We invite you to:
